C-Media AC97 Audio Device Error Code 10

A few days ago.. i was reinstalling all my programs, using Windows XP. after that my PC sound system as the sound could not come up. The Volume tab under the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window in the Control Panel is not active.
The C-Media AC97 Audio Device in the Hardware tab under the same Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window says 'The device cannot start (Code 10)' in the Device status.
I have tried series of method to Roll Back and Update the C-Media driver in the Driver tab in C-Media AC97 Device Properties window while connecting to the internet but the Code 10 would not go and the sound would not work.
I have also tried downloading related drivers and installing them on the PC but the problem persists.
Troubleshooter has my uninstall and then reinstall the device, but to no avail.
The computer said that i need to reboot to get the new hardware effect.. but it didn't work at all... just have the same problem before..
Then i just googling to read some forum and blog related to this problem, and i found that many of them have the same problem.
then one of them wrote that i need to download Realtek 97 (this is for general drivers for our audio ICs) to solve the problem.

then i install it.. and bum!! my PC sound is back. :))

nb: i need three days to fix this problem :(
